[10/27/99]The SciFi Channel launched
a series of full-page TVGuide ads to coincide with "The Sentinel's"
debut in the new "Four-Play" Fall schedule. The ads -- a new one each week
-- feature each of Jim Ellison's (Richard Burgi) enhanced senses.
Smell, hearing, sight, touch and taste have all been featured. (Ads

[10/22/99] *** Richard on "Action" *** -- Thursday, October 28th at 9:30pm ET/PT. FOX will repeat Richard's second episode of "Action," entitled "Blowhard." Richard returns as Cole Riccardi, Hollywood action-movie leading man.
Peter soon learns that his efforts have been for naught; the bigwigs funding his movie don't want Cole playing the lead -- they want to "go younger." When told Cole's pay or play contract will come out of his share of the film, Peter schemes to get the actor to back out of the movie, convincing him to do what is best for Cole Riccardi by coming out after all. Cole does so -- on E! News Daily, no less -- and 'outs' Peter along with himself, attributing his decision to to the advice of his unsuspecting "lover," Peter Dragon.
Unfortunately, "Slow Torture" -- much to the chagrin of producer Peter Dragon -- is a spectacular flop, and Dragon finds himself scrambling for a new movie with which to redeem his reputation. Luckily, he has one story treatment with some promise -- Beverly Hills Gun Club. (Now that Action has officially premiered, let FOX know how much you enjoyed seeing Richard on their new show and that you'd like to see more of him! E-mail FOX at askfox@foxinc.com or visit the FOX website at www.fox.com )
[10/22/99] *** The Sentinel now part of SciFi's "Four-Play" Fall schedule *** -- Tuesdays from 7-11pm ET (4-8pm PT). Rather than "stripping" the show across a whole week, SciFi will air four episodes every Tuesday evening as their Primetime lineup (with the first two of those episodes repeating starting at 1am ET). The current Sentinel schedule is as follows: Tuesday, November 2
Though no official announcement or decision has yet been made, the possibility exists of SciFi purchasing additional new episodes or a TV movie of The Sentinel. Such new episodes (or movie), if ordered, would most likely not debut until Fall 2000 at the earliest. (Visit SciFi's website for information on the network and its schedule or e-mail SciFi at programming@scifi.com or feedback@scifi.com with comments on Richard Burgi and The Sentinel). As UPN has officially dropped The Sentinel from its lineup, any possibility of additional new episodes will have to come through first-run syndication. (Thanks to Kaz for the scheduling information)
[10/05/99]The SciFi Channel has added an excellent Sentinel page to its scifi.com website. The page, which can be found at www.scifi.com/sentinel/, contains cast and character bios, a selection of downloadable JPEG images of the cast, a first season episode guide, a bulletin-board devoted to The Sentinel, and a downloadable Sentinel screen-saver in both MAC and Windows formats. SciFi's broadcast schedule for The Sentinel can also be found on the SciFi.com website; go to the Schedulebot pages for detailed information on October and November's episodes. (Remember to e-mail SciFi at programming@scifi.com or feedback@scifi.com with comments on Richard Burgi, The Sentinel, and their very nice Sentinel web page).
[10/05/99]The SciFi Channel hosted a chat with Sentinel stars Richard Burgi and Garett Maggart on Monday, October 4th at 9pm ET. Due to the unanticipated turnout, the Scifi IRC server crashed approximately 45 minutes into the session when the sheer number of participants overloaded the software. Though the chat with Richard and Garett was unable to continue, the Moderator was able to save a number of questions still in the queue and hoped to ask them of the actors for inclusion in the official SciFi Channel chat transcript. [10/27/99] Apparently including the queued questions wasn't possible, as the transcript now available at SciFi's website ends where the server crashed. For further information on chat transcripts, go to the SciFi Channel's website at www.scifi.com. .Additional information is also available at the Support Our Sentinel website, world.std.com/~sentinel. (Thanks to SOS for helping to arrange the chats!)
