[08 Sep 07] *** Richard's fourth
episode of NBC's "Las Vegas" -- the Fall 2007 premiere -- will air
September 28th *** -- Richard's three episodes of "Las Vegas,"
which aired February 23rd - March 2nd, will be followed by at least one
more appearance for the creepy billionaire Vince Peterson, who returns
on September 28th in the two-hour season premiere, "A Hero Ain't Nothing
But A Sandwich." Richard filmed his scenes in the episode in early
May.
Peterson, a New York hedge-fund billionaire and high-stakes gambler
with a taste for the Vegas lifestyle, was introduced in "Bare Chested
in the Park," with "Junk in the Trunk" setting up his obsession
with and abduction of Sam (Vanessa Marcil), and "Heroes"
creating a multiple-thread cliffhanger which includes Vince flying the
coop with Sam trussed up in a steamer trunk. The Fall '07 premiere picks
up the cliffhanger threads of "Heroes" and follows the plotlines to their
conclusions.
NBC's show page gives the description of "Las Vegas" excerpted below:
From Gary Scott Thompson -- the writer of the hit film “The Fast and
the Furious” -- comes “Las Vegas,” now entering its fourth season. This
fast-paced, sexy drama follows the elite Las Vegas surveillance team charged
with maintaining the security of one of “Sin City’s” largest resorts and
casinos.
Oscar and Golden Globe Award nominee James Caan (“The Godfather,” “Misery”)
stars as Ed Deline, the head of the surveillance team for the Montecito
Resort & Casino. With his protégé, Danny McCoy (Josh
Duhamel, “All My Children”) a former U.S. Marine and Las Vegas native,
they deal with card-counting cheaters, costly streaks of random luck and
rival casinos stealing their big-money players.

[08 Sep 07]*** Richard films episode of
CBS legal drama "Shark"for Fall 2007 season ***
-- Richard will appear
in "The Eye of the Beholder" (episode 2.03) as Dr. Neil Fuller,
a distinguished Beverly Hills plastic surgeon.
Fuller runs afoul of the Shark team ( led by James Woods and
Jeri
Ryan) when he becomes a murder suspect. Seems Dr. Fuller has been exchanging
sex with starlets for plastic surgery and then filing bogus insurance claims
on them. One of those starlets winds up dead shortly after confronting
Fuller about the falsified insurance claims being investigated by her insurance
company.
With the Fall '07 season premiering on Sunday, September 23rd, Richard's
episode will most likely air on Sunday, October 7th at 10:00pm ET.
Droll trivia point -- Richard has worked with Jeri Ryan previously
on "The Flash" and "The Sentinel," and with Sam Page
on "Point Pleasant."

[08 Sep 07]*** Richard
appears in "Thomas Kinkade's Christmas Cottage"***
-- Richard Burgi
spent nearly three weeks in British Columbia, Canada, in May filming "Thomas
Kinkade's Christmas Cottage," a movie based on the early life of famous
painter
Thomas Kinkade. The film covers a pivotal period in the
young Kinkade's life and explores the experiences that led him to a career
as an artist.
Richard plays Kinkade's father, Bill Kinkade, while Oscar winner
Marcia
Gay Harden plays Kinkade's mother, Maryanne. Thomas Kinkade is played
by Jared Padalecki, brother Pat Kinkade is played by Aaron Ashmore,
and Kinkade's painter mentor, Glen Wessler, is played by multiple Oscar
nominee, Peter O'Toole.
Asked about his father in an interview, Kinkade described him as "a
talented amateur artist," adding "My dad traveled the roads. He was a womanizer,
a World War II veteran, a Frank Sinatra Rat Pack wannabe and was not involved
with the family. He was a civilian employee of the Air Force after the
war and drifted from job to job."
Ken LaZebnick, who wrote the film's screenplay, gave further
details to Kate Taylor of the New York Sun, describing Bill
Kinkade as larger than life. "He was this guy who had vast dreams and ended
up being an assistant manager at a pizza parlor in Sacramento. he took
his sons on these crazy trips, and he was an inveterate womanizer."
The film, distributed by Lionsgate, is scheduled for a November
30th 2007 premiere.

[08 Sep 07] *** "Hostel:
Part II" to be released on DVD on October 23rd***
-- The much-anticipated
sequel to writer-director
Eli Roth's
horror blockbuster, "Hostel,"
premiered in theaters on June 8th and is now available for pre-order in
anticipation of its October 23rd release.
Eli Roth gave MTV.com some teasing details on "Hostel: Part II,"
including an idea of how Richard's character Todd Rogers and his
buddy
Stuart (Roger Bart) McGenty fit into the overall story.
Said Roth:
"The film is also following two guys who go through this experience
to kill somebody. And we know them really well, and they are very, very
likeable and they're very normal. It seems like there's nothing psycho
about them, except they are looking for some excitement in their life because
they are bored. ... That's going to be a parallel story. We see it
from the girl's perspective and we see it from the client's perspective.
We inter-cut both stories until they all meet in this horrible place. So,
we're going to learn everything about the organization, all the minutiae
of it..."

Craig
Martin, the "wrong place at the wrong time" realtor husband of movie
heroine Jessica (Kim Basinger) Martin. Unbeknownst to Jessica,
Craig has videotaped crooked cops executing drug dealers -- and the crooked
cops are desperate to tidy up loose ends. To get Craig and the camera,
they abduct Jessica and the Martin's young son. Jessica has one ace up
her sleeve -- she's managed to patch a busted phone together enough to
tap out random phone numbers, and the guy on the other end, Ryan (Chris
Evans), is willing to help. Problem is, he's on a cellphone, doesn't
know where Jessica is... and his battery's running low.
TBS gives the following description for the film: "A random wrong
number on his cell phone sends a young man (Chris Evans) into a high-stakes
race against time to save a woman's life (Kim Basinger). With no knowledge

of the tenuous cell phone connection, Ryan is quickly thrown into a world

[08 Sep 07] *** Richard's 2004
movie "Torn Apart" airs on the Lifetime Movie Network in September*** --
Wednesday, September 19th at 4:18pm ET/PT and Thursday, September 20th
at 5:45am. Richard plays Dr. Billy Westin, husband of Dr.
Vicki (Tia Carrere) Westin. Filmed in New Orleans in May 2004, the
film follows Vicki Westin's harrowing race against time with her family's
lives in the balance.
Dale Midkiff plays Jerry Bender, a man unhinged by the death
of his son and his wife's vegetative state, both the result of injuries
sustained in a wreck. Though part of the surgical team treating Bender's
wife, Vicki found her hands tied by bureacratic red tape and bean-counting
and thus unable to act quickly enough to save Bender's wife.
Bender, of course, doesn't distinguish between surgeon and administration
and so includes Vicki in his revenge plot. The other players he quickly
disposes of; for Vicki, a different fate awaits -- Bender abducts Billy
and their daughter and gives Vicki a choice -- she can have one or the
other back, but not both, and she has 12 hours to decide.
Following a string of tantalizing clues, Vicki gets closer and closer
to Bender... but not close enough. With time running out, she choses their
daughter, gambling she'll have enough time to rescue Billy before the 12

[08 Sep 07]*** Catch Richard
in October as Detective Francis Kirk in "Decoys" ***
-- Richard plays
Det. Francis Kirk in the Canadian-made tongue-in-cheek blend of sci-fi
and horror, which airs on the Sci Fi Channel on October 14th at 11:00pm
ET.
Richard made a quick trip to Ottawa, Canada, during March and
April 2003 for his role in Decoys, which director
Matt Hastings
described as "American Pie meets Species" -- a sci-fi thriller
set on a college campus. Richard plays Detective Francis Kirk. According
to the script, "He's a young cop who knows that he won't be in this small
town busting college students for party pranks for much longer. He thinks
he belongs somewhere between NYPD Blue and the cover of GQ."
The Species connection comes into play in the form of the beautiful
and -- let us say -- otherworldy young women who descend upon the college
campus in search of healthy and libidinous young men. Much as in Richard's
1998 version of I Married a Monster, alien beings come to Earth
in search of mates -- only this time, it's the Outer Space womenfolk who
are eager to reproduce. Unlike their Monster counterparts, these alien
"femmes" are quite literally "fatales," as their reproductive process leaches
the body-heat right out of their unfortunate paramours.
Richard's Detective Kirk becomes involved when the extraterrestrial
temptresses leave a string of frozen young men in their wake. |

"The District" now airing in repeats on A&E and on the Biography Channel;

Richard's Captain Hunter appeared in seven episodes of Season

A&E's episode rotation is once again in Season 1, with Richard's
episode "The Agony and the Ecstasy" airing Tuesday, Sept 18th at 7:00am
ET and "Running Towards Fire" airing at 7:00am on the 19th.
The Biography Channel is now in Season 2; Richard's next episodes
begin in Season 3 with "The Second Man" and "Good-bye, Jenny".
The show is also airing in syndication in various international markets.
A complete listing of Richard's episodes of "The District" can
be found on the Filmography page,
with an expanded listing and episode details on the District
Guide page.
Richard appeared in three of the show's four seasons in a total
of twelve episodes, playing the recurring role of the prickly and suspicious
Captain
Vincent Hunter, head of the DC Police Department's Internal Affairs
Division.
Unfortunately, the show did not take maximum advantage of the Hunter
character, though they established an intriguing back-story for him in
the first season episode "The DC Strangler." Ella Farmer (played by
the late Lynn Thigpen) told Chief Mannion (Craig T. Nelson)
a bit about Hunter. He was a highly-decorated officer with a relatively
high solve rate while in Homicide, a department he left after discovering
his wife -- also a police officer -- in bed with his partner.

We cannot emphasize strongly enough that mail should not be
sent to Richard's home address! Receiving fan mail through his
home address is a disquieting experience and cause for concern, especially
from the standpoint of privacy and safety. If you have come across
what you believe may be his home address, please, do NOT use it! We
-- and Richard -- would greatly appreciate it if you would let us
know where you came across the address by using this e-mail
link to the RBFC.
While postcards, letters, and cards will be promptly forwarded
to Richard, we cannot forward packages; he has asked that no gifts
be sent to him. Though Richard appreciates the goodwill and generosity
those gifts represent, he finds them a little overwhelming. Richard
would be honored if, instead, wellwishers made a donation in his name to
a local children's shelter or literacy program, or to the Pacific
Marine Mammal Center .
