[06/27/01] *** Visa and Mastercard users may now pay for their RBFC Memberships through PayPal *** -- Visa and Mastercard users, especially those living outside of the USA, now have the option of using their credit cards to make their Membership fee payments.

PayPal logoPayPal transactions are processed through their website at, using as the RBFC payment address / account.  The process is fairly simple -- new PayPal customers must first register with PayPal, which takes about five minutes.  (Instructions are provided on the PayPal website).

Unfortunately, the added convenience is not without cost; Memberships or Renewals paid through PayPal are slightly more expensive to cover PayPal processing fees.  The Membership or Renewal rates for payment through PayPal are as follows: US - $20.90, Canada - $26.05, and International - $31.20. Remember, your payments must be made in US Dollars.

**NOTE** -- Even when PayPal is used as a payment option, we ask that you fill out and send in an RBFC Membership Registration & Renewal form. This will enable us to process your Registration or Renewal quickly and efficiently.  (Simply print out the Registration Form, fill it out, and mail it to the RBFC address printed on the form).

For further information, contact Kat through the following RBFC mail link.

[06/27/01] *** FOX adds "24" to its Fall 2001 lineup -- Tuesdays at 9:00pm ET/PT ***   Richard, cast as newly-divorced father Alan York, recently filmed the pilot for "24," a groundbreaking drama series for the FOX Network.  Kiefer Sutherland heads the cast of the "real time" show, so called because its 24 hour-long episodes will cover a single day -- 24 hours.

Kiefer Sutherland plays the part of CIA agent Jack Bower/Bauer, who has 24 hours to stop an assassination, while Richard -- aided by Sutherland's on-screen wife Teri -- searches for their two missing daughters, Janet and Kim.  (The girls, best friends, have disappeared). The series will build to its climactic finale in episode 24 -- "zero hour," so to speak.

Richard will, presumably, continue to play the part of Alan York through the run of the series, which is due to go into production in late July/early August.

RB as Captain Hunter
[06/27/01] *** Richard Burgi appearing on CBS's "The District" as Captain Vincent Hunter of Internal Affairs -- Saturdays at 10pm ET/PT. ***

Mannion and Hunter on the job[06/27/01]  **Latest "District" News** -- "The Distict" premieres in Australia today, Wednesday, June 27th, at 9:35pm on Channel 9.  (Aussie fans, you'll find Richard's episodes listed below).

"The District" wrapped production on its Freshman season with a total of 23 episodes.  As the show has been a ratings success for CBS, usually winning its hour every Saturday, "The District" will be back next season, most likely starting production on its sophomore season in late July/early August.

Now that "The District" has aired its season finale, look for the remaining unrepeated episodes to air. Of Richard's seven episodes, three  have not yet repeated; they are:

  • "The Santa Wars" -- episode 1.10
  • "The Agony and the Ecstasy" -- episode 1.19
  • "Running Towards Fire" -- episode 1.20
"The Santa Wars" is coming up next; according to the TVGuide website, the episode will air Saturday, July 7th at 10:00pm ET/PT on CBS.

This would be a great time to send CBS some feedback on "The District" and Captain Hunter -- let them know you've enjoyed seeing Richard on their show and would enjoy seeing even more of him in the Fall 2001 season.  Simply visit the CBS website's "District" page and use the feedback link.

"The District," which premiered Fall 2000 on CBS, is set in Washington, DC and focuses on DC's new Police Commissioner Jack Mannion, played by Craig T. Nelson ("Poltergeist," "Coach").  Mannion is, according to the CBS website, "brought in to overhaul an antiquated system ill-equipped to deal with the problems of a sprawling, crime-ridden city.  As much a friend to ordinary citizens as to high-ranking politicians, Mannion has quite a task ahead of him.  He immediately selects the most promising officers around him to become his circle of aids.  Mannion and this group of modern-day "Untouchables" set out to bring order to the District and to clamp down on the crime in America's capital."

Richard plays the recurring role of Captain Vincent Hunter, head of the Internal Affairs division.

RB in Twice in a Lifetime[06/27/01] *** Watch for Richard's episode of "Twice in a Lifetime" when it repeats on PAX in the USA and CTV in Canada -- Saturday, July 28th at 11:00pm ET on PAX (CTV schedule as yet unconfirmed) *** Richard appears in the episode titled "The Knockout."  The TVGrid listing had this to say:

Knockout -- a boxing champion (guest star Richard Burgi) who became a homeless alcoholic after killing his adoptive brother in the ring gets another shot -- at life.  With Paul Popowich. (Photo -- Paul Popowich and Richard Burgi).

The show itself, an hour-long drama with a redemptive theme, is described by TVGuide in these terms: "An angel [Paul Popowich] ushers people who've just had near-death experiences back in time to revisit a pivotal decision that changed their lives."  What TVguide did not mention is that these ne'er-do-wells die, but are actually given the chance to change their pasts and get a second chance at life -- if they can convince their younger selves to chose a different path when the "pivotal decision" is made.

Both the PAX and the CTV websites list information on "Twice in a Lifetime," with the PAX website offering a more detailed look at the show, the characters, the cast, and the episodes.

[01/30/01]*** Write to Richard care of the RBFC! *** -- Richard has asked us to encourage anyone interested in sending cards or letters to him to use the RBFC mailing address, which is listed below.  This allows Richard to better handle his incoming mail, which he certainly enjoys receiving, provided it comes through appropriate channels.

Mr. Richard Burgi
10153 1/2 Riverside Drive, #494
Toluca Lake, CA 91602

We cannot emphasize strongly enough that mail should not be sent to Richard's home address!  Receiving fan mail through his home address is a disquieting experience and cause for concern, especially from the standpoint of privacy and safety.  If you have come across what you believe may be his home address, please, do NOT use it!  We -- and Richard -- would greatly appreciate it if you would let us know where you came across the address by using this e-mail link to the RBFC.

While postcards, letters, and cards will be promptly forwarded to Richard, we cannot forward packages; he has asked that no gifts be sent to him.  Though Richard appreciates the goodwill and generosity those gifts represent, he finds them a little overwhelming.  Richard would be honored if, instead, wellwishers made a donation in his name to a local children's shelter or literacy program.
