Richard Burgi dives into the horror genre with a part in Eli Roth's "Hostel:
Part II"***
-- Richard finished his work in Prague, Czech Republic
in late October on the much-anticipated sequel to writer-director
Eli
Roth's horror blockbuster, "Hostel." The movie is now
just days away from its June 8th 2007 premiere date.
Eli Roth gave MTV.com some teasing details on "Hostel: Part II,"
including an idea of how Richard's character Todd Rogers and his
buddy
Stuart (Roger Bart) McGenty fit into the overall story.
Said Roth:
"The film is also following two guys who go through this experience
to kill somebody. And we know them really well, and they are very, very
likeable and they're very normal. It seems like there's nothing psycho
about them, except they are looking for some excitement in their life because
they are bored. ... That's going to be a parallel story. We see it
from the girl's perspective and we see it from the client's perspective.
We inter-cut both stories until they all meet in this horrible place. So,
we're going to learn everything about the organization, all the minutiae
of it..."

[05 Jun 07]*** Richard
appears in "Thomas Kinkade Presents The Christmas Cottage"***
-- Richard
Burgi recently returned from the Vancouver, BC area where he spent nearly
three weeks of May filming "The Christmas Cottage," a movie based on the
early life of famous painter
Thomas Kinkade. The film covers a pivotal
period in the young Kinkade's life and explores the experiences that led
him to a career as an artist.
Richard plays Kinkade's father, Bill Kinkade, while Oscar winner
Marcia
Gay Harden plays Kinkade's mother, Maryanne. Thomas Kinkade is played
by Jared Padalecki, brother Pat Kinkade is played by Aaron Ashmore,
and Kinkade's painter mentor, Glen Wessler, is played by multiple Oscar
nominee, Peter O'Toole.
Asked about his father in an interview, Kinkade described him as "a
talented amateur artist," adding "My dad traveled the roads. He was a womanizer,
a World War II veteran, a Frank Sinatra Rat Pack wannabe and was not involved
with the family. He was a civilian employee of the Air Force after the
war and drifted from job to job."
Ken LaZebnick, who wrote the film's screenplay, gave further
details to Kate Taylor of the New York Sun, describing Bill
Kinkade as larger than life. "He was this guy who had vast dreams and ended
up being an assistant manager at a pizza parlor in Sacramento. he took
his sons on these crazy trips, and he was an inveterate womanizer."
The film, distributed by Lionsgate, is scheduled for a December
14th 2007 premiere.

[05 Jun 07] *** Richard's three
back-to-back episodes of NBC's "Las Vegas" lead to a return in the
Fall 2007 premiere *** -- Richard's three episodes of "Las
Vegas," which aired February 23rd - March 2nd, will be followed by
at least one more appearance for the creepy billionaire Vince Peterson,
who returns in "A Hero Ain't Nothing But A Sandwich." Richard filmed
his scenes in the episode in early May.
Peterson, a New York hedge-fund billionaire and high-stakes gambler
with a taste for the Vegas lifestyle, was introduced in "Bare Chested
in the Park," with "Junk in the Trunk" setting up his obsession
with and abduction of Sam (Vanessa Marcil), and "Heroes"
creating a multiple-thread cliffhanger which includes Vince flying the
coop with Sam trussed up in a steamer trunk. The Fall '07 premiere picks
up the cliffhanger threads of "Heroes" and follows the plotlines to their
conclusions.
NBC's show page gives the description of "Las Vegas" excerpted below:
From Gary Scott Thompson -- the writer of the hit film “The Fast and
the Furious” -- comes “Las Vegas,” now entering its third season. This
fast-paced, sexy drama follows the elite Las Vegas surveillance team charged
with maintaining the security of one of “Sin City’s” largest resorts and
casinos.
Oscar and Golden Globe Award nominee James Caan (“The Godfather,” “Misery”)
stars as Ed Deline, the head of the surveillance team for the Montecito
Resort & Casino. With his protégé, Danny McCoy (Josh
Duhamel, “All My Children”) a former U.S. Marine and Las Vegas native,
they deal with card-counting cheaters, costly streaks of random luck and
rival casinos stealing their big-money players.

[05 Jun 07]*** Richard films guest
spot in new ABC pilot titled The Call***
-- Richard Burgi recently
filmed a guest spot as Frank on a new series pilot for ABC.
Titled "The Call," the comedy from Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran
of "24" and Dave Hemingston of "Kitchen Confidential," follows
paramedics Nick Adams (Danny Comden) and Ian Wode (Kal Penn)
in "24"-style real-time as they work to save a life each episode while
wreaking havoc with each other's. Kali Rocha of "Grey's Anatomy"
plays their boss Wendy "the Wolf" Wolfram.
ABC won the series after a bidding war with Fox Television,
according to Variety, and committed to a six-episode order.
Sadly, ABC decided not to add The Call to the Fall 2007 schedule after
all. Depending on the nature of the order commitment, ABC most likely opted
to forego production of the six episodes.

next episode, Season 3's "The Second Man," likely to air in late June or
July
The Biography Channel is now in Season 1, with Richard's episodes

June 16th at 10:00 and 11:00am ET respectively.
NOTE: At present, Biography appears to be shifting "The District"

The show is also airing in syndication in various international markets.
A complete listing of Richard's episodes of "The District" can

Richard appeared in three of the show's four seasons in a total
of twelve episodes, playing the recurring role of the prickly and suspicious
Captain
Vincent Hunter, head of the DC Police Department's Internal Affairs
Division.
Unfortunately, the show did not take maximum advantage of the Hunter
character, though they established an intriguing back-story for him in
the first season episode "The DC Strangler." Ella Farmer (played by
the late Lynn Thigpen) told Chief Mannion (Craig T. Nelson)
a bit about Hunter. He was a highly-decorated officer with a relatively
high solve rate while in Homicide, a department he left after discovering
his wife -- also a police officer -- in bed with his partner.

appears in Jon Cassar's new book, "24: Behind The Scenes" *** -- Richard
Burgi's role in the first season of "24" set the pace for "no-one is

a mercenary working with Ira Gaines who dispatched the real Alan
York and assumed his identity in order to get close to Teri (Leslie

We cannot emphasize strongly enough that mail should not be
sent to Richard's home address! Receiving fan mail through his
home address is a disquieting experience and cause for concern, especially
from the standpoint of privacy and safety. If you have come across
what you believe may be his home address, please, do NOT use it! We
-- and Richard -- would greatly appreciate it if you would let us
know where you came across the address by using this e-mail
link to the RBFC.
While postcards, letters, and cards will be promptly forwarded
to Richard, we cannot forward packages; he has asked that no gifts
be sent to him. Though Richard appreciates the goodwill and generosity
those gifts represent, he finds them a little overwhelming. Richard
would be honored if, instead, wellwishers made a donation in his name to
a local children's shelter or literacy program, or to the Pacific
Marine Mammal Center .
