Richard's latest "District" episode due to air April 28th on CBS Burgi Bonanza for German viewers -- The Sentinel, Just Shoot Me, and Providence Write to Richard through the RBFC -- *** NEW MAILING ADDRESS *** Learn more about Richard's Daytime and Primetime television career Get your RBFC Website banners here! "the Sentinel" on SciFi -- April - May schedule
"Mannion investigates when an off-duty white police officer (James Parks) shoots an African-American undercover cop (Erik King) in the back during a stakeout" (The cast listing includes Richard as Capt. Hunter). This would be a great time to send CBS some feedback on "The District" and Captain Hunter -- let them know you've enjoyed seeing Richard on their show and would enjoy seeing even more of him in the Fall 2001 season. Simply visit the CBS website's "District" page and use the feedback link. *** The one that (nearly) got away *** -- Richard unexpectedly popped up on the April 21st episode of "The District," "The Agony and the Ecstasy." As this was the first airing, look for this episode to air again as the season progresses, along with "The Santa Wars" and "The D.C. Strangler." TVGuide had this to say of "The Agony and the Ecstasy:" "Mannion (Craig T. Nelson) and his ex-wife, Sherry (Jean Smart), are making plans to get back together when they receive an unexpected visit from their son, Jack Jr. (Rodney Scott) and his new girlfriend, Candice (Allison Lange). After pleasant introductions, the conversation sours when Candice lets it slip that Jack Jr. is dropping out of college for a year to backpack through Europe with her. But things get really ugly when Mannion learns that his son is addicted to drugs -- and that Candice is his supplier. Also, Nancy's gun is stolen by a man with whom she had a one-night stand." Hunter (Richard Burgi), as Captain of Internal Affairs, is involved in the stolen gun storyline. Nancy Parras (Elizabeth Marvel) reports her gun missing, only to discover it has apparently been used in an armed robbery. This leads to an I.A.D. investigation and Hunter's involvement in the on-screen action through the first half hour of the show. ** Please note -- the TVGuide online listing does not mention Richard or Hunter by name (an apparent oversight which helped this episode slip "under the radar"). Richard is listed in the show's opening credits, immediately after Jean Smart. ** Additional New Episode ** -- Richard may have filmed an eighth episode of "The District," though at present we are unable to confirm this. He was working on an episode of "The District" during the week of March 19th, though this may have been "The Agony and the Ecstasy." Richard's episodes to date (Note: the pilot is designated as episode '1.00') Season One -- 2000-2001
Richard plays the recurring role of Captain Vincent Hunter, head of the Internal Affairs division. To learn more about "The District," visit the CBS Website "District" page. (More information as we receive it. Thanks to Becky for the screen-grabs)

Burgi Bonanza for German viewers *** -- "The Sentinel" returns
to Germany's Premiere World starting April 19th. Richard's
Jim Ellison brings "extra-sensory protection" back to German TV with
two episodes a day, Monday through Friday. The first showing will
be at 18:00 (5pm) with a repeat the following morning at 9am.
Also airing on Premiere World in April is Richard's episode of "Just Shoot Me," Mum's the Word. Just Shoot Me is airing on Sundays at 21:50 (10:50pm), with Richard's episode probably airing on April 24th or 25th. Richard will soon be appearing in "Providence" on RTL in the episode "The Apartment," (episode #2.14) playing Dr. J.D. Scanlon, Syd Hansen's (Melina Kanakaredes) new neighbor and love interest. When Syd decides she needs to strike out on her own by moving into her own place, one of the first people she meets at her seemingly idyllic new home is Dr. J.D. Scanlon, a handsome and charismatic professor of Anthropology. J.D. easily sweeps Syd off her feet and enchants her with tales of his many experiences doing field research in Africa. Along the way, J.D. strives to convince Syd she needs a mentor -- him -- and that she needs to break away from her family. Unfortunately, Syd's family has other ideas, derailing a romantic interlude planned by J.D. He gives Syd an ultimatum of sorts -- he won't date her as long as she is so tightly bound to her family. When Syd realizes J.D., for all his talk of independence from family, is just as tightly bound to his new family -- the building's other tenants -- she calls him on it and moves back home. (Thanks to Steffi, Becky, and Dianne for the scheduling info and screen-grabs)
[01/30/01] *** Write to Richard care of the RBFC! *** -- Richard has asked us to encourage anyone interested in sending cards or letters to him to use the RBFC mailing address, which is listed below. This allows Richard to better handle his incoming mail, which he certainly enjoys receiving, provided it comes through appropriate channels. Mr. Richard Burgi
We cannot emphasize strongly enough that mail should not be sent to Richard's home address! Receiving fan mail through his home address is a disquieting experience and cause for concern, especially from the standpoint of privacy and safety. If you have come across what you believe may be his home address, please, do NOT use it! We -- and Richard -- would greatly appreciate it if you would let us know where you came across the address by using this e-mail link to the RBFC. While postcards, letters, and cards will be promptly forwarded to Richard, we cannot forward packages; he has asked that no gifts be sent to him. Though Richard appreciates the goodwill and generosity those gifts represent, he finds them a little overwhelming. Richard would be honored if, instead, wellwishers made a donation in his name to a local children's shelter or literacy program.
[08/14/00] ** "Wild Thornberrys" update ** -- Look for Richard's episode of the popular Nickelodeon animated series this Fall. Richard -- who took the part because "Wild Thornberrys" is one of his son's favorite shows -- voices a nefarious poacher who tangles with Eliza Thornberry and her eccentric family. To learn more about "Wild Thornberrys," visit their page on Nickelodeon's website at www.nick.com. (Thanks to Carla for the update)
