[16 Apr 07] *** RBFC website moves
to new hosting service at end of April *** -- At the end of April, www.richardburgi.com
will be moving to a new website hosting service. In simplest terms,
our current apartment building has gone condo, and our lease is up this
month.
The new hosting service is already in place and the site has been set
up on the new server, where it can presently be accessed through a "subdoman"
address -- http://www.richardburgi.dreamhosters.com
.
The actual www.richardburgi.com domain name will be transferred from
the old hosting address to the new one at the end of the month. While the
address change percolates through the DNS (Domain Name Server) network,
you may encounter difficulties accessing the site through the www.richardburgi.com
address; rest assured this will be short-term (generally two to three days).
Thankyou for your continued interest and support!

[16 Apr 07]*** Richard films guest
spot in new ABC pilot titled The Call***
-- Richard Burgi recently
filmed a guest spot as Frank on a new series pilot for ABC.
Titled "The Call," the comedy from Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran
of "24" and Dave Hemingston of "Kitchen Confidential," follows
paramedics Nick Adams (Danny Comden) and Ian Wode (Kal Penn)
in "24"-style real-time as they work to save a life each episode while
wreaking havoc with each other's.
Kali Rocha of "Grey's Anatomy" plays their boss Wendy "the
Wolf" Wolfram.
ABC won the series after a bidding war with Fox Television, according
to Variety, and has committed to a six-episode order. The show's fate will
be announced at the May "up front" when the Fall 2007 schedule is announced
by ABC.

***
-- Richard Burgi (pictured at left with "Desperate Housewives"
castmates Ricardo Antonio Chavira and Brenda Strong) joined several
of the "Housewives" cast on Sunday, March 18th at the Desperate Golfers
Casa Pacifica Second Annual Charity Fundraiser.
The event, organized by Teri Hatcher and John and Rebecca
Elliott, was held at the Sterling Hills Golf Club in Camarillo, CA.
In addition to the golf tournament, the event also featured a dinner, a

home.
Hatcher and her "Desperate Housewives" castmates, along with some members
of the show's crew, were part of the estimated 120-player strong tournament.
Players donated anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars
to play in the event. Hatcher hoped to raise $30,000 from the tournament

[16 Apr 07]*** Richard and Lori
Burgi attend Las Vegas premiere of "Monty Python's SPAMALOT"***
--
Richard and Lori Burgi attended the March 31st Las Vegas Gala Opening of
the hit Broadway musical, "Monty Python's SPAMALOT" at The Grail Theater
at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel.
Based on the 1975 movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," SPAMALOT
is a mix of new and old, with some of the more memorable scenes from the
film woven into a new story by Python alumnus Eric Idle. Vegas-style glitz
and glamor are added though a number of rousing song and dance routines.
SPAMALOT is now playing at the new The Grail Theater at the Wynn Las
Vegas, with performances scheduled daily except Thursdays.

[16 Apr 07] *** Richard's three
back-to-back episodes of NBC's "Las Vegas" lead to return in the
Fall 2007 premiere *** -- Richard's three back-to-back episodes
of "Las Vegas," which aired February 23rd - March 2nd, will be followed
by at least one more appearance for the creepy billionaire Vince Peterson.
Peterson, a New York hedge-fund billionaire and high-stakes gambler
with a taste for the Vegas lifestyle, was introduced in "Bare Chested
in the Park," with "Junk in the Trunk" setting up his obsession
with and abduction of Sam (Vanessa Marcil), and "Heroes"
creating a multiple-thread cliffhanger which includes Vince flying the
coop with Sam trussed up in a steamer trunk. The Fall '07 premiere will
undoubtedly pick up where "Heroes" ended, with multiple characters in dire
straits and Sam in a trunk in the hold of Peterson's private jet.
NBC's show page gives the description of "Las Vegas" excerpted below:
From Gary Scott Thompson -- the writer of the hit film “The Fast and
the Furious” -- comes “Las Vegas,” now entering its third season. This
fast-paced, sexy drama follows the elite Las Vegas surveillance team charged
with maintaining the security of one of “Sin City’s” largest resorts and
casinos.
Oscar and Golden Globe Award nominee James Caan (“The Godfather,” “Misery”)
stars as Ed Deline, the head of the surveillance team for the Montecito
Resort & Casino. With his protégé, Danny McCoy (Josh
Duhamel, “All My Children”) a former U.S. Marine and Las Vegas native,
they deal with card-counting cheaters, costly streaks of random luck and
rival casinos stealing their big-money players.

[16 Apr 07] *** Richard Burgi
dives into the horror genre with a part in Eli Roth's "Hostel: Part II"***
--
Richard finished his work in Prague, Czech Republic in late October on
the much-anticipated sequel to writer-director
Eli Roth's horror
blockbuster, "Hostel." The movie is now in post-production
with a June 8th 2007 premiere date.
Eli Roth gave MTV.com some teasing details on "Hostel: Part II,"
including (we assume) an idea of how Richard's character Todd Rogers
and his buddy
Stuart (Roger Bart) McGenty fit into the overall story.
Said Roth:
"The film is also following two guys who go through this experience
to kill somebody. And we know them really well, and they are very, very
likeable and they're very normal. It seems like there's nothing psycho
about them, except they are looking for some excitement in their life because
they are bored. ... That's going to be a parallel story. We see it
from the girl's perspective and we see it from the client's perspective.
We inter-cut both stories until they all meet in this horrible place. So,
we're going to learn everything about the organization, all the minutiae
of it..."

[16 Apr 07] *** Catch Richard when
"Decoys" airs on The Sci Fi Channel -- Monday, April 23rd at 11:00pm ET
*** -- Richard plays Det. Francis Kirk in the Canadian-made tongue-in-cheek
blend of sci-fi and horror, which airs on the Sci Fi Channel in late May
and mid-June.
Richard made a quick trip to Ottawa, Canada, during March and
April 2003 for his role in Decoys, which director
Matt Hastings
described as "American Pie meets Species" -- a sci-fi thriller
set on a college campus. Richard plays Detective Francis Kirk. According
to the script, "He's a young cop who knows that he won't be in this small
town busting college students for party pranks for much longer. He thinks
he belongs somewhere between NYPD Blue and the cover of GQ."
The Species connection comes into play in the form of the beautiful
and -- let us say -- otherworldy young women who descend upon the college
campus in search of healthy and libidinous young men. Much as in Richard's
1998 version of I Married a Monster, alien beings come to Earth
in search of mates -- only this time, it's the Outer Space womenfolk who
are eager to reproduce. Unlike their Monster counterparts, these alien
"femmes" are quite literally "fatales," as their reproductive process leaches
the body-heat right out of their unfortunate paramours.
Richard's Detective Kirk becomes involved when the extraterrestrial
temptresses leave a string of frozen young men in their wake. |

and Jane" airs on Starz, Starz Edge, and Starz Kids and Family Channels

for pecking order supremacy over cars, landscaping, and swimming pools.

Dick and Jane" is now available on the premium cable movie channel Starz
with multiple airings throughout November.

Jim Danvers, the weak-willed boyfriend of Rose (Toni Collette)
Feller. Jim sees Rose as the kind of woman he could fall in love and
settle down with, but succumbs to temptation in the form of Rose's 'party
girl' sister Maggie (Cameron Diaz).
Finding Jim and Maggie en flagrante pushes Rose to the end of her rope,
triggering her breakup with Jim and her estrangement from Maggie. Both
sisters begin journeys of their own and find inner strengths they didn't
know they had -- and in the process, find a grandmother (Ella, played
by Shirley MacLaine) and, eventually, each other once more.

NOTE: The A&E Channel appears to have taken "The District"

Richard's Captain Hunter appeared in seven episodes of Season
1, two episodes of Season 3, and three episodes of Season 4.
A&E's episode rotation is now in Season 3, with Richard's next episode,
"Goodbye, Jenny," airing at 7:00am on Wednesday, March 8th.
The Biography Channel is now in Season 1, with Richard's episodes "The
Agony and the Ecstasy" and "Running Towards Fire" airing on March 12th
and 13th respectively.
The show is also airing in syndication in various international markets.
A complete listing of Richard's episodes of "The District" can
be found on the Filmography page,
with an expanded listing and episode details on the District
Guide page.
Richard appeared in three of the show's four seasons in a total
of twelve episodes, playing the recurring role of the prickly and suspicious
Captain
Vincent Hunter, head of the DC Police Department's Internal Affairs
Division.
Unfortunately, the show did not take maximum advantage of the Hunter
character, though they established an intriguing back-story for him in
the first season episode "The DC Strangler." Ella Farmer (played by
the late Lynn Thigpen) told Chief Mannion (Craig T. Nelson)
a bit about Hunter. He was a highly-decorated officer with a relatively
high solve rate while in Homicide, a department he left after discovering
his wife -- also a police officer -- in bed with his partner.

[16 Apr 07] *** Write to Richard care of
the RBFC! *** -- Richard has asked us to encourage anyone interested in
sending cards or letters to him to use the RBFC mailing address, which
is listed below. This allows Richard to better handle
his incoming mail, which he certainly enjoys receiving, provided it comes
through appropriate channels.
Mr. Richard Burgi

We cannot emphasize strongly enough that mail should not be
sent to Richard's home address! Receiving fan mail through his
home address is a disquieting experience and cause for concern, especially
from the standpoint of privacy and safety. If you have come across
what you believe may be his home address, please, do NOT use it! We
-- and Richard -- would greatly appreciate it if you would let us
know where you came across the address by using this e-mail
link to the RBFC.
While postcards, letters, and cards will be promptly forwarded
to Richard, we cannot forward packages; he has asked that no gifts
be sent to him. Though Richard appreciates the goodwill and generosity
those gifts represent, he finds them a little overwhelming. Richard
would be honored if, instead, wellwishers made a donation in his name to
a local children's shelter or literacy program, or to the Pacific
Marine Mammal Center.
