[13 Apr 09]*** Richard's episode
of "Just Shoot Me" airs on TBS in April ***
-- Richard plays action
hero -- and Mama's boy -- Robert "The Nomad" Galatin in "Mum's
The Word," airing Tuesday, April 14th at 2:00pm ET.
Nina Van Horn (Wendie Malick) is returning to the Blush offices
when she literally walks into famed action hero Robert Galatin, who is
filming an episode of "The Nomad" on the sidewalk outside.
Each is immediately smitten with the other and Robert is soon eagerly
pursuing Nina, appearing in the Blush offices with flowers in hand. Nina
accepts Robert's invitation to an evening of romance, never expecting to
be joined by Robert's diminutive, yet domineering, mother.
Natually, the two women are almost immediately at odds, and Nina tells
Robert he must send the aged materfamilias packing if he expects to win
her affections. Robert quickly gives Mother her marching orders and
turns his eye towards the approving Nina. Unfortunately, Mother's hold
on her son is strong, and the sight of her shawl sends Robert reeling,
becoming increasingly frantic and filled with doubt until he is bawling.
When an insistent tapping on the door proves to be Mother, Robert drops
to his knees and wraps his arms around her, crying "Oh, Mother, Mother,
never leave me, never-never!"
Nina takes one look at the shocking tableau and quits the scene in disgust
while Mother Victorious smirks at her.

[13 Apr 09] *** Richard's Karl
returns to "Desperate Housewives" for new arc of episodes, starting with
Spring Sweeps *** -- Turns out even after the 5-year jump, Karl is
still around to perplex and bedevil his ex! Richard returned on Sunday,
March 22nd at 9:00pm ET in the eighteenth episode of Season Five, "A
Spark. To Pierce the Dark" (episode 5.18), which filmed in February.
Karl's new storyline has several facets, the first of which is introduced
in "A Spark. To Pierce the Dark." Susan gets an unexpected surprise when
Karl enrolls his 5-year-old son Evan at the private school where Susan
works as an art teacher. The surprise takes on more ominous tones when
she discovers that young Evan is harboring dark and angry feelings which
he is expressing through gruesome artwork.
Karl eventually reveals that six weeks prior, his wife Marisa left him
on the grounds that she was overwhelmed by parenthood. Obviously Evan is
not handling the abandonment well, and Karl is afraid he's doing a poor
job as a single parent. Rather than gloat in the "turnabout is fair play"
aspect of Karl's situation, Susan finds she feels nothing but sorrow for
his current dire straits.
While this turn of events would seem to indicate that a new romance
between Susan and Karl might be in the cards, it turns out Karl is instead
destined for a romance of sorts with Bree. This unlikely match is
born out of Bree's desperation to successfully divorce Orson while keeping
control of her company; apparently she has decided that the best way to
secure the services of the best lawyer she can find -- Karl Mayer -- is
to woo and bed him.
Thus far, Richard is working on several late-season episodes leading
up to the season finale, and may possibly be back on a more regular basis
for the show's sixth season. The remaining new episodes of Season 5
will begin airing on April 19th, with Richard appearing in an as yet unascertained
number of episodes.
(Thanks to Richard for the heads up and to TWOP for the episode details) |

[13 Apr 09] *** Richard plays
father of the bride in new CBS series "Harper's Island" *** -- Richard
joined the cast of the 13-episode CBS midseason series "Harper's Island"
in early August, playing the part of Thomas Wellington. Wellington
is the patriarch of an Island blue-blood family and the father of bride-to-be
Trish
("Supernatural's" Katie Cassidy), whose "destination wedding" brings
the characters together on picturesque Harper's Island.
The show premiered at 10:00pm ET on Thursday, April 9th and will
remain in the post-CSI berth throughout its 13-episode run, which ends
on July 2nd.
Also featured in the cast are Jim Beaver ("Supernatural"), Elaine
Cassidy, Christopher Gorham ("Ugly Betty"), Cameron Richardson ("Point
Pleasant"), and Harry Hamlin ("L.A. Law," "Veronica Mars"). "Harper's
Island" is created by Ari Schlossberg and executive produced by
Jon Turteltaub, with Jeffrey Bell serving as showrunner.
CBS gave the following brief description of the show:
"The new drama, HARPER'S ISLAND, is a murder mystery that unfolds as
friends and family attend week-long festivities at a destination wedding
on a secluded and picturesque island off the coast of Seattle, infamous
for a homicidal maniac's rampage seven years ago."

[13 Apr 09]*** Richard guests on Virgin
Media's new online drama, "Dr. Hoo" *** -- Richard appears as the mysterious
Shadow in the tenth episode, "The Shadow Speaks." Airing on the
UK's Virgin 1, "Dr. Hoo" is described as a "year-round online only drama,"
and consists of an initial slate of ten 3-minute webisodes.
(Sadly, the show is only available to UK residents at present).
Virgin 1's website gives the following description of the show:
Welcome to the world of Mr. Hugh - or Dr. Hoo as he prefers to be known.
A manic depressive from Wales with a multi-personality disorder, he
pronounces his surname Hoo. His real name is actually David Raymond Hugh.
Hoo is a strict vegetarian. He's ecologically conscious and his primary
concern is to save himself and the world around him. However, time is running
out fast.
His assistant is the sexy bombshell Zara. She's obsessed with the "other
world" and is always seeking Hoo's help to find herself in the modern world.
The relationship between Dr. Hoo and Zara is complex to say the least
- especially as Zara appears to live in Hoo's head. As their lives unfold
inside a garage in Borehamwood on the outskirts of central London, we're
left wondering whether they will ever get out.
Dr. Hoo is played by Ian Hart (Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone).
Zara is played by Elaine Cassidy, one of the leads of Richard's
new CBS series, "Harper's Island." "Dr. Hoo" is created, written
and directed by Stephen Lord, Cassidy's husband. (Lord also plays
Agent Smart in "Dr. Hoo").
As his character is seen only in close-up on a video screen, it is likely
Richard's scenes were shot while he was in Vancouver working with Cassidy
on "Harper's Island" -- his scenes are shared with Lord's Agent Smart,
who is initially filmed in front of a backdrop of the Vancouver skyline.

[13 Apr 09] *** Catch Richard Burgi
on SHO Networks when "Hostel: Part II" plays on The Movie Channel
on April 27th***
-- Richard worked in Prague, Czech Republic in late
October 2006 on the much-anticipated sequel to writer-director
Eli Roth's
horror blockbuster, "Hostel."
Eli Roth gave MTV.com some teasing details on "Hostel: Part II,"
including an idea of how Richard's character Todd Rogers and his
buddy
Stuart (Roger Bart) McGenty fit into the overall story.
Said Roth:
"The film is also following two guys who go through this experience
to kill somebody. And we know them really well, and they are very, very
likeable and they're very normal. It seems like there's nothing psycho
about them, except they are looking for some excitement in their life because
they are bored. ... That's going to be a parallel story. We see it
from the girl's perspective and we see it from the client's perspective.
We inter-cut both stories until they all meet in this horrible place. So,
we're going to learn everything about the organization, all the minutiae
of it..."
Showtime's late April airdates are as follows:

control and work with his powerful and unpredictable abilities. Ellison's

backs and keeping their extrasensory escapades under the radar as much
as possible.

We cannot emphasize strongly enough that mail should not be
sent to Richard's home address! Receiving fan mail through his
home address is a disquieting experience and cause for concern, especially
from the standpoint of privacy and safety. If you have come across
what you believe may be his home address, please, do NOT use it! We
-- and Richard -- would greatly appreciate it if you would let us
know where you came across the address by using this e-mail
link to the RBFC.
While postcards, letters, and cards will be promptly forwarded
to Richard, we cannot forward packages; he has asked that no gifts
be sent to him. Though Richard appreciates the goodwill and generosity
those gifts represent, he finds them a little overwhelming. Richard
would be honored if, instead, wellwishers made a donation in his name to
a local children's shelter or literacy program, or to the Pacific
Marine Mammal Center .
